Dadd Richard
Chatham (Kent, England), 1817-Broadmoon (London), 1886
Dadd spent 43 years in an asylum, and his name was his destiny, for he assassinated his father in 1843. On the 28th of October 1842 he spent the day drawing in Beirut. His drawings are astonishing for their precision and accuracy. They observe the English topographical drawing tradition – a detailed statement of architecture or landscape.
